MATS Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (MIME) organised an alumni interaction session on 8th July as part of the orientation programme for the new students. The intent of the event, “My Story… My Words – The Alumni Speaks” was to give students the opportunity to engage with experienced professionals, gain insights into the industry, and learn from the experiences of alumni.
The session began with a warm welcome note by Dr A Sakthivel, Alumni faculty co-ordinator. He addressed the esteemed alumni and the new batch of students, and talked about the significance of such interactions in fostering a sense of community and shared learning. Dr Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Director of MIME took the stage next and expressed his gratitude to all the participants, including alumni, faculty, and students, for their presence at the interaction session.
Ten alumni members participated in the session and shared useful details about their career journeys, including the industries they work in, the positions they hold, and the career paths they have taken. They provided insights into the job market, industry trends, and emerging opportunities that gave students a better understanding of different career options to make informed decisions about their future paths.
The alumni members took the opportunity to share their academic experiences with the new students and gave them tips on studies, bagging internships and placements, as well as shared some entrepreneurship and start-up advice. The session not only revolved around themes of industry networking and professional development, but also included topics like work-life balance and personal growth. In the end, the speakers also guided the students on how to utilise the support and guidance they will be provided by the Institute.
As the session came to a close, Mr. Sreepathi Bharadwaj, new student of the batch 2023-25, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to everyone involved in making the interaction session a grand success.
